Chapter 10: Closing Arguments

As I continue the healing process in my journey back to full health, I think back on all that I had to suffer through to find treatment. How close I was to ending it all on numerous occasions because I couldn’t find answers. The physicians and doctors told me to stop researching, to stop looking things up and to simply think differently about my pain. The medical system completely failed me, and in my research, I have seen it fail others time and time again. It is in serious need for improvement. I’d go as far as to say that if you don’t have a broken bone, or some type of physical injury, that you should do everything within your power to avoid doctors and hospitals. Again though, please don’t take my advice over that of a professional.

I wrote this story in an effort to help others. It’s a lengthy read, but it was done on purpose. It’s meant to detail out everything that I went through so that others facing the same, or similar situations could find hope, answers, TREATMENT, and solutions, without having to repeat all of the steps that I did, that produced zero results.

While I was never officially diagnosed with Long COVID, I strongly believe that this is what I had / have. This experience has changed my life forever. Covid or not, whatever it is/was, it attacked my nervous system and caused over sensitization, pain and dizziness. But rather than labeling it with some type of syndrome without a cure, I chose to seek one out. Contrary to what Mayo Clinic, the pain reprocessing therapists and the anxiety coaches taught me, there WAS a solution, and for me, that solution was to treat the nervous system with a Stellate Ganglion Block procedure, and with medications like SSRI’s and Abilify. I am not saying that there is no value in positive thinking (as I strongly believe in that), but to say that there is no cure is wrong. I believe there is an answer to everything. This way of thinking and the treatment that I discovered may not be for everyone, but when you are in as much pain, and suffering from over a dozen debilitating symptoms like I was, it’s better than the alternative.

Heck, I would have tried just about anything. In my story, I decided not to include my hopeless adventures of contacting psychics, reiki and spiritual healers… but I did it. And yeah, I got scammed. It’s not something that I would recommend pursuing. Ha! But hey, the mind is a very powerful tool. If you believe in it enough and your condition is not that serious, it may just help you out.

I saw so many doctors and physicians that repeatedly asked the same questions (as if it were scripted), only to get 15 minutes of their time, and then shoved out of the door without any answers, solutions, treatment… or hope. I got so fed up with it that I even created a website for the doctors that included My Story, My Symptoms, and all of the Medical Test Results:

Although the doctors never helped, had answers, or offered solutions… my mother and I were relentless in finding them. I can’t thank her enough for dragging me around to all of the appointments, hospitals and doctors’ offices. Without her, it is very likely that I would not be alive today.

And while I was fortunate enough to have the Stellate Ganglion Block relieve a good portion of the severity of most of my symptoms, I still have a lot on the checklist to try, if this procedure doesn’t end up fully curing me. If you tried the Stellate ganglion procedure and are still suffering from what you believe to be Long COVID, I was personally finding positive research on the following:

Monoclonal Antibodies

Plasma Transfusions

…  to name a few.

I’ll be sure to update this blog with my progress. In the meantime, I wish you the best of luck on your journey.

Please feel free to leave a comment, interact and ask questions. I will do my best to get back to everyone as quickly as possible.

Thank you,

Jon Mroz
