Facebook Tip #1 – Link Your Profile To Your Fanpage
As seen in the screenshot below, many people will either add their company name or a random word like “Entrepreneur” here that will link over to a miscellaneous community page in no relation to them or what they’re marketing. I’ve even seen some people list their company name here and without them knowing, it links to another fan page created by another distributer… whoops!
Let’s make sure that doesn’t happen to you.
Step 1.) You must have a facebook fan page. I have a video tutorial on how to create facebook fan pages here, or you can simply follow this link to create a facebook fan page of your own.
Step 2.) Go to your profile and click “Edit Profile”
Step 3.) Click the “Education and Work” tab on the left hand side. If you are currently linking to a page that is not your own, simply delete the existing content.
Step 4.) Click “New Project” and Type in the name of your fanpage. You’ll also want to add details and other links such as your capture page or blog. Change the title of your position to self-employed or CEO. Many just leave it as “Works At…”
NOTE: If your fanpage doesn’t show up it is possible that it is too new, or facebook hasn’t indexed it yet. Here’s a tutorial that should help you get discovered.
Facebook Tip #2 – Importing Your Blog To Facebook
In this quick tutorial we’ll cover the notes app on your facebook fan page. Not only will this enable you to import your blog into facebook, but if you decide to, you can use “Notes” on your fanpage AS your blog. In other words, you’ll be able to write articles or post content there rather than installing a wordpress blog if you choose to do so.
Step 1.) Go to your Facebook fanpage and click the “edit page” button in the top right hand corner, then select “apps” from the menu list on the left.
You will then see a list of apps available for your page and you should see “Notes” as below:
Step 2.) Simply click the “add” button to add the application to your page and you will now see it in the dropdown menu on the left hand bar when you go back to your page.
Step 3.) Import Your Blog by adding your RSS feed. Simply click “Edit Import Settings”
NOTE: If you do not have a blog you can simply skip step 3 and start to write your first note.
- Notes are Search Engine Optimized on facebook so be sure to include your targeted keywords in your “Note” or in other words, your article.
- Include a link back to your blog or facebook fanpage in the note.
Now, go and find targeted groups in your niche and ask to join. Start contributing to the “conversation” and drive some traffic back to your sites.
Important: Facebook is a social networking site. So, get involved and comment on other peoples posts before posting your own links.
With that being said, what are your thoughts on facebook notes and your profile link? Leave your comment below and let us know how you’ll be using these features.
